Apostolic/Administrator
Gifting: Apostle or the gift of Administration
Main Role: Coordinate all the other staff on a weekly basis. This
may or may not mean weekly meetings. Primary role is to keep them
motivated and focused on the church vision and their role in fulfilling
the vision through the individual ministries they oversee. This is
their role in horizontal leadership.
Vertical leadership is when the five-fold apostle administrator at
least monthly motivates and coordinates all other administrators over
other ministries to make sure they are fulfilling their role in
motivating the leadership in their ministries.
Prophet
Gifting: Prophetic
Main role is to make sure the church gets in touch with God and
allows God to speak to the church (through prophecy, preaching,
gifting, worship, etc.). Their role is to work in the five-fold to make
sure that they keep close to God in prayer and intercession and make
sure that every time they get together they seek God’s leadership and
direction. To keep the spiritual impact alive and well in the
five-fold. The prophet needs to make sure that there is adequate
dynamic worship taking place during the Sunday morning or regular
service time so that the congregation senses that they are able to
worship God and that God is able to speak to them through that worship
experience. That is there role in the horizontal leadership.
In vertical leadership they have to motivate all the prophets and
prayer warriors in the church to make sure that the ministries that
these prophets are involved in are constantly seeking God’s guidance
and direction in all that the ministry does and every time they get
together. Often the prophet is encourages praise and worship to take
place in their ministries.
Evangelist and Outreach
Gifting: Evangelist or the gift of Mercy (burden for the lost)
Main role is to make sure that the five-fold keeps the burden of
getting lost people saved and that evangelism is the main thrust in all
outreach activities and services of the church. This person is
responsible for all the outreach programs, big events, advertising, and
television and programs in which the church might be involved. That is
horizontal leadership.
Vertical leadership: The Evangelist role is to make sure that all
the ministry teams in the church have an evangelist or outreach
director whose main task is to grow that ministry by encouraging lay
involvement. They are also responsible for making sure there is a soul
winning team functioning in the church. One of the major roles of the
evangelist is to oversee a team for big events once a quarter and
monthly events to draw in visitors.
Pastoral Care Encourager
Gifts: Pastor or encouragement
Main role is the counselor, pastoral care person in the church. They
are to make sure that pastoral care takes place in the five-fold and
throughout the congregation. This is horizontal leadership.
Vertical leadership: The pastoral care encourager is responsible for
making sure that every ministry team has one pastoral care person for
no more than fourteen people on a team who the pastoral care person is
responsible for calling each week as a personal prayer partner. Every
ministry team is required to have one prayer partner (pastoral care
person) to pray with them and to refer them on to the five-fold
pastoral care person for major counseling problems. Small groups that
are fellowship related normally come under the pastoral care person.
Other times small groups that are ministry related come under the
teacher/minister of education.
Teacher/Minister of Education
Giftings: Gift of Teaching
Main responsible in the five-fold is to make sure that discipleship
is important and continues in all that is done in the church. Most
times the minister of education is over all of the ministry groups that
deal with teaching the scriptures from children’s ministries all the
way through the Sunday school, men’s ministries, women’s ministries,
etc. The minister of education is responsible for making sure that
discipleship is the end result of people getting saved. This is done
through determining a person’s giftedness and training them to use
those gifts in ministry along with teaching them the basics of sound
doctrine. This is horizontal leadership.
Vertical Leadership: The minister of education/teacher’s role is to
make sure that every ministry in the church has a teacher/trainer to
make sure what ever teaching of the scriptures that need to be done are
done according the church doctrine. Also, that every ministry have a
teacher/trainer who trains everybody in there ministry on how to do
there role for that ministry. Many times small groups that are ministry
related come under the teacher/minister of education. Other small
groups that are fellowship related normally come under the pastoral
care person.
